Pilot Travel Centers and Flying J Travel Plazas have always been the two best brands in the business of serving both the truck driver and the car traveler. Both companies were privately owned and both companies were being operated by the 2nd generation of families:
Jimmy Haslam, CEO and COO, President of Pilot Travel Centers
Crystal Call-Maggelet, CEO and President of Flying J Travel Plazas
These two great companies merged on July 31, 2010, taking "Two good brands and creating one Great Company," now known as Pilot Flying J (PFJ).
You may have noticed some changes at our Flying J over the past few months. Change is often hard to accept, but the changes that are occurred and the changes yet to come are pretty impressive.
Some Current New Attractions are:
• Denny's restaurant is now a part of the Flying J in Brookshire, Texas. This is a great change as the brand name is something that will draw many more customers off the freeways into our plaza and the town of Brookshire.
• We are undergoing a complete remodel of the interior of our building to better serve the traveling public.
• We will be enhancing our product lines with new vendors, and giving some of our long-term vendors much more room to sell a wider variety of their product lines.
• A mainstay for us will be 1 liter bottles of soft drinks and water at a daily price of 2/$3.00, you can mix and match flavors and brands and still only pay 2/$3.00.
• We accept both the Pilot Driver Payback cards, and the Flying J Frequent Fueler Cards.
• During the months of October and November we are rewarding our card members with double points at all Flying J Locations.
Some Great Coming Attractions are:
• New drivers lounge for our professional truck drivers to enjoy during their downtime.
• A new plasma flat screen and new furniture for our professional drivers.
• A new line of fountain offerings,
• Machines with flavor added syrups,
• New coffee flavors,
• New roller grills that will deliver a much higher quality roller products
